I came across this clip on Powerline, which I found interesting. It reflects a trend in politics that is common on many issues. The party that is not in power is critical of a given position, until that party assumes power itself.

Here is an excerpt of a 1992 speech given by then U.S. Senator Al Gore, who was a candidate for Vice President, criticizing President George H.W.Bush for not being aggressive enough against Saddam Hussein, who was “accumulating chemical, biological and other weapons of mass destruction, including an interest in nuclear weapons.”

It is an interesting speech, when compared to the arguments heard from Democrats today.
